What is the Pay What You Can (PWYC) Initiative?
Starting a creative career can be tough, especially when financial barriers stand in the way. That’s why I've decided to create the Pay-What-You-Can Headshot Initiative—A chance for emerging talent to access professional headshots at a price that works for you, ensuring finances don’t stand in the way of your next big opportunity.
This initiative is application-based only to ensure it reaches those who need it most. Whether you’re an actor preparing for casting calls, a dancer needing polished headshots for auditions, or another creative freelancer elevating your online presence, this opportunity is designed to support you as you take the next step in your career.
How it all works
Submit an Application
Share a little about yourself, your goals, and how a headshot will help.
Review & Selection
Applications are reviewed carefully, and selected applicants will be contacted with next steps and availability.
Pay-What-You-Can
Once selected, I'll confirm your photoshoot date and you'll be asked to pay the amount you listed on the application form to secure your slot.
Photoshoot Prep
Once payment is received, I'll send you a questionnaire and prep guide to help us prepare for your photoshoot.
PWYC APPLICATION
Important info - please read!
The Pay What You Can Headshot Initiative offers a 30-minute headshot session (normally priced at £200, including 2 retouched images) at whatever price you can afford—no strings attached. If you would like to purchase additional photos, you can do so during the image selection process on the day of your shoot—though there’s absolutely no pressure to do so, only if it feels right for you.
My goal with this initiative is to make it as accessible as possible. To ensure its continued sustainability, I kindly ask that applicants who are able to contribute more do so. This will help keep the initiative running and allow me to offer more opportunities to others who may need it.
Due to the limited spots available each month under this initiative, applications will be processed on a waitlist basis. The more contributions I receive, the more spots I will be able to open up to others through this initiative.

Hi, I'm Danielle!
As a Nottingham-based photographer with a background in dance and two decades (showing my age now!) of working in the creative sector, I understand how financial barriers can impact creative professionals. That’s why I created the Pay What You Can Headshot Initiative – to make professional headshots accessible to all. Whether you’re an actor, entrepreneur, or someone looking to elevate your portfolio, my aim is to capture your authentic self in a relaxed, supportive environment, ensuring you feel celebrated and confident.
And because it’s important to toot my own horn from time to time—and to make sure you know you’re in safe hands—you might be interested to know that I’ve bagged a few shiny awards over the years for my photography work. Most recently, I earned the title of Associate Photographer through The Portrait Masters Accreditation Program, one of only 15 photographers in the UK to achieve this. So, you can rest assured you’ll get top-quality images!
